Heritage Park Care Center is located at the base of Mount Sopris in the beautiful city of Carbondale, Colorado, voted one of Outside’s Best Towns by Outside Magazine in 2013. With an average of 295 days of sunshine every year, there’s plenty to do. For a day trip, we suggest:
- The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce offers a thorough activities, tourism and event website, giving detailed information on biking, hiking, kayaking, trout fishing, mountaineering and skiing in the area.
- Avalanche Ranch Cabins and Hot Springs offers peace and scenic beauty from 7,000 feet, overlooking the Crystal River below. The 36-acre ranch offers cabins, hiking and cascading natural hot spring pools designed around the natural landscape and rock formations of the Crystal River Valley.
- The Carbondale Rodeo Committee is committed to keeping the Roaring Fork Valley’s western heritage alive by offering family-oriented rodeo events. The Rodeo is typically held every Thursday from June until late August, rain or shine.
- Capitol Peak Outfitters, Inc., offers daily horseback rides and overnight pack trips for all ages and experience levels. All of their horseback rides can be complemented with fishing, as well.
